BRASS BANDS CONTEST CONDITIONS

1. RULES: All rules of the Victorian Bands League (V.B.L.) will be strictly enforced.
2. REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS: Players must register directly with the V.B.L. 2/157 Hyde St., Yarraville. 3013 before 4.00 p.m. on Friday 18th April 2008.
3. PERMIT PLAYERS: Bands will be allowed permits as per V.B.L. Rules. All applications and fees for permit players will close at 4.00 p.m. 16th May 2008. These to be sent directly to the Victorian Bands League.
4. SIGN ON FORMS: It is the responsibility of all entrants to ensure that sign on forms are submitted to the V.B.L. by Friday 2nd May 2008.
5. ADJUDICATOR’S SCORES: One copy of each item to be played must be forwarded directly to the V.B.L. 2/157 Hyde St., Yarraville. 3013 by Friday 9th May 2008.
   1. All bars to be numbered.
   2. No Band identification and no distinguishing marks are permitted.
   3. Bands will be permitted to submit photocopies. Photocopies will not be returned to the Band to comply with copyright rules.
6. TIME LIMITS: All Bands and Grades - Maximum overall playing time must not exceed twenty-five minutes.
7. PENALTIES: If the overall playing time exceeds twenty-five minutes, five points will be deducted from the final Concert item performed.
8. Bands may enter a higher grade than their actual grading, but must also play in their own grade. If playing in two grades, Bands must perform different music in each grade, with the exception of Junior Bands eligible to play in D Grade.
9. Please note that these conditions are subject to confirmation from the V.B.L. Musical Advisory Board. Please refer to the V.B.L. news for any changes.
10. ENTRY FEES: Correct entry fees must accompany each entry, which must include title/s for all Music being performed. Cheques, or money orders for all entries to be made payable to the Bendigo Competitions Society Inc. Please forward entries to Music Coordinator, P.O. Box 60 California Gully 3556.

V.B.L. AFFILIATED JUNIOR BANDS & SCHOOL BANDS

Total playing time not to exceed 25 minutes.
Music: A selection of three own choice items.

Each Entry: $50 per section
Prizes: 1st Trophy, 2nd Trophy

NON V.B.L. AFFILIATED JUNIOR BANDS & SCHOOL BANDS

Total playing time not to exceed 25 minutes.
Music: A selection of three own choice items.
JUNIOR BANDS
SCHOOL BANDS

Each Entry: $65 per section. ($15 will be forwarded to the V.B.L)
Prizes: 1st Trophy, 2nd Trophy

V.B.L. AFFILIATED CONCERT BANDS

Total playing time not to exceed 25 minutes.
Music: A selection of three own choice items.
CONCERT BANDS

Each Entry: $75 per section
Prizes: 1st Trophy, 2nd Trophy

NON V.B.L. AFFILIATED CONCERT BANDS

Total playing time not to exceed 25 minutes.
Music: A selection of three own choice items.
CONCERT BANDS

Each Entry: $90 per section. ($15 will be forwarded to the V.B.L)
