Brass Solos & Parties Contest Saturday 31st May 2008 Conducted by Bendigo Competitions Society Inc. in conjunction with the Victorian Bands League and the Bendigo and District Bands Group.

 BRASS SOLOS CONTEST CONDITIONS

1. RULES: All rules of the Victorian Bands League (VBL) will be strictly enforced.

2. MUSIC AND TIME LIMITS: All music is own choice. Time limits will be strictly enforced.

3. REPETITION OF ITEMS: No competitor will be permitted to play any item in more than one section.

4. In sections B126, B127. B133, B134 and B140 all competitors must be registered with the same Band/School. Competitors shall not compete more than once in each section.

5. No competitor shall perform an item that he/she has won during the preceding two years.

6. UNIFORM: All competitors must appear in the official uniform of the Band/School that they are representing.

7. ADJUDICATOR’S SCORES: Each competitor must supply a copy of his/her score for the Adjudicator.

   1. All bars to be numbered.

   2. Competitors must supply a photocopy for the Adjudicator. Photocopies will not be returned to the competitor to comply with copyright rules.

   3. The copy for the Accompanist should be an original.

8. ACCOMPANIST: Competitors may use their own Accompanist, use the Official Accompanist or perform unaccompanied.

9. Music for the Official Accompanist must be forwarded to him/her at least fourteen days prior to the competition. The Official Accompanist reserves the right to refuse to play for the competitor if the music is handed in on the day of competition.

10. If you require the accompanist for rehearsal, prior to the competition, please contact him/her to make arrangements.

11. Dependent on the number of entries, a section may be deleted, divided or combined with another.

12. NON AFFILIATED SOLOISTS: may enter any VBL Solo Competition in a calendar year by the payment of a one off $10 Registration fee, to be paid directly to the VBL.

13. ENTRY FEES: Correct entry fees must accompany each entry. Cheques, or money orders must be made payable to the Bendigo Competitions Society Inc. and forwarded to Music Coordinator, P.O. Box 60 California Gully 3556.
